Slovenia, a tiny country squeezed between Austria, Hungary, Italy, Croatia and Adriatic Sea, became suddenly one of the World Hottest Culinary Hubs. Once you are here, you understand it why as well. Our culinary diversity reveals the history of Slovenia, the history of influences, changes over the times as well as personal, family stories.
While in Slovenia, you definitely need to taste our gourmet delights: this is the way to understand us better. There are quite some possibilities:
Tasting of samples of typical Slovenian culinary specialties can be included in a regular walking customized city tour as we did it for our fun travelers World life experience. However, some of you might like more of a food and wine story- in that case, we suggest you to join us on our special Ljubljana Food Tour.
If you prefer to do your own research, we suggest you to pop in one of our excellent local restaurants or visit our Open Kitchen - an open air food market that is opened (if weather permits) every Friday on Ljubljana’s Farmer’s market.
However, if you would like to have some Hands on experience, we suggest you, to join us on one of our custom-made private tours.
To your tailor made tour we could add a workshop of some culinary classes: like how to make bread in a traditional, wood heated oven or how to master the most famous Slovenian cake POTICA.
