The boundary stream between the marshland and the city was the river<br>Grada\u0161\u010dica, or, as it was once called, the Great Ljubljanica. Trnovo and Krakovo were long<br>considered villages of gardeners, supplying the city\u2019s marketplace with fresh vegetables.<br>Today, this area represents the city's outskirts, offering residents an environmentally friendly<br>lifestyle within the capital. The revitalization of degraded areas is part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ljubljana.si\/en\/news\/ljubljana-among-100-climate-neutral-and-smart-cities\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.ljubljana.si\/en\/news\/ljubljana-among-100-climate-neutral-and-smart-cities\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Carbon-Neutral<br>European Cities 2030<\/a> project.
